June 14 — Longmont High School & west

North of 9th, west of Francis, south of Mountain View, east of Hover

Total for today 15,210 steps and 2:40 time.

The southern half of the area I started just a few days before (June 11).  This is also the area that the Sunrise Stampede took place in a few weeks ago (see Digression blog).

There was a new house being build, with concrete being poured.  Putzmeister sounds like a vaguely derogatory name that you might call someone, but it’s a German company whose name means ‘Plaster Master’.

I remember Marco Evoniuk being in the news in the 1980’s, a three-time Olympian race-walker from Longmont  (1984 Los Angeles, 1988 Seoul, 1992 Barcelona).  I’m not sure, but I think this might be his parents house.

I guess perhaps Marco was the Original Longmont Streetwalker.  I hate to admit it, but I  believe Mr. Evoniuk would leave the new Longmont Streetwalker in the dust.

  1. Cool, Mark ! I covered my first car in those blue flowers and also covered the dash with blue-flowered wallpaper ! Think
    I was a flower child??

  2. Great pictures. I recognize very little but I did see a friends home and familiar pottery. I will for, sure keep tabs on your adventures.
