September 14 (part 2) — Kensington south (plus east)

North of 3rd, west of Alpine, south of 5th, east of Martin.

Total for today (part 2) :   12,560 steps and  2:15 time.  Grand total for both parts of today’s walk:  32,670 steps and 6:11 time.

As stated in part 1… I did all of today as one walk, but am splitting it up into two posts.  Firstly, because the first part has so many pictures.  Secondly, because they’re kind of two distinct neighborhoods.  (and actually this 2nd part is partials of two distinct neighborhoods too… west of Lashley and east of Lashley.

My only internet links for today will be thanks to this car’s bumper stickers.

They Might Be Giants

They Might Be Giants

My son was introduced to They Might Be Giants by his middle school music teacher, and he passed it on to me.  They’re a rather unique 2-man band, with a lot of quirky, catchy songs.  Perhaps my favorite is Birdhouse in your Soul.  They have done a lot of music for other media, notably the theme song for the TV show Malcolm in the Middle, ‘Boss of Me’.

On the other hand, Alice In Chains I know very little about.  But I’m going to trust the Placer of the Bumper Stickers that if I like one, I might like the other.  There’s also a bit of synchronicity that impels me, also.  As I mentioned in my January 19 blog, Halo of Flies by Alice Cooper is one of my favorite songs.  Is it just coincidence that Alice in Chains put out Jar of Flies?

This is a nice park, but it confused me at first.   Isn’t almost everybody that might happen to walk by a resident of town and country??!?    If you don’t realize (which I didn’t) that there was a housing complex called ‘Town and Country’, it’s a little ambiguous.

  1. I wondered if that grasshopper was injured. He appears to be missing a left hind leg and possibly an antenna? Perhaps he’s just gathering himself after someone pulled a leg off.. or do kids still do that? Also, that Pillar Art, really IS interesting isn’t it? I wonder if people make it piece by piece and then put it together. I kind of like it though.
