North of Pike, west of Pratt Parkway, south of Ken Pratt Blvd , east of Bowen and Missouri
Total for today: 22,660 steps and 4:11 time.
Two new state license plates… Hawaii (!) and South Carolina. I have now seen license plates from all 50 states on my walks, and I didn’t start looking until March 17… so it just took a little over 4 months. I did not get a picture of the Rhode Island one, since it was at a traffic light. So I’m still looking for one of those to photograph. Would also be nice to get a Washington D.C.
JOE’S BIRDHOUSES
I met a nice older man named Joe on Bowen, who showed me his bird houses, and told me about all the birds that come to his yard… he has seen falcons, owls, and even a bald eagle there…
CONSECUTIVE STATE STREET NAMES
Some of the street names in the Southmoor Park area are named after U.S. states. It didn’t occur to me until today (and I went home in checked) that they are alphabetically going from north to south. (the other similar street sequences I’ve noticed in town and in Boulder county are alphabetical going from south to north).
State streets in Southmoor Park going from north to south —- Iowa, Jersey (I’m counting this…), Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Texas, and Utah. Some of these are west of Pratt Parkway, some are east. Notice the Iowa thru Missouri don’t skip any letters, either… I-J-K-L-M
DOG VIEWING CUT-OUTS IN FENCES
I have never noticed a fence with the rectangles cut out with wire mesh over it before… or if I did, I didn’t know what it was for. But I’m pretty sure it must be compassionate dog owners that want to let their pets have a better view of what’s going on out on the street or sidewalk. It seems like a good idea. I saw three of them in this part of town. Are there some in other neighborhoods too?
BOB WEIR (?)
I wasn’t sure who Bobby was, though he looked vaguely familiar. Thought maybe he was from Dallas or Dynasty or some TV show. Upon research, however, it appears this is Bobby Weir from the Grateful Dead. Is there some controversy/competition between Weir and (rest in peace) Jerry Garcia?

KANEMOTO PARK AND BURLINGTON ELEMENTARY
Kanemoto Park was looking good, and the adjacent Burlington Elementary had renovations going on…
MULTI-MAILBOXES OF THE DAY
I was unable to pick a single ‘mailbox of the day’, so….
