Longmont Street Walker

North of Mountain View, west of Francis, south of 17th, east of Hover

This is very much the ‘medical’ part of Longmont… besides the hospital, there are lots and lots of doctors, dentists, etc.

I was surprised to see that this is another area that has a lot of houses that are set at perhaps a 5 degree angle to the streets.

My son spent 3 months Costa Rica a few years ago, and our family went down to see him while he was there, as he had his 21st birthday then. A very nice place to visit. Pura Vida is kind of like their national motto or saying.

The hospital area has really grown since we moved here in the early 1980’s. I think the ‘Tobacco Free Smoke Free’ sign may have changed recently, since marijuana is now sort of pseudo-legal in Colorado. I guess chewing tobacco may be not allowed as well?

I thought it was kind of strange to embed these rocks into the cement like this. I asked about it to someone who lived nearby, and he said he didn’t know why it was done, but he said he had little kids and that it was a real nuisance. Seems like kids would get hurt there all the time.

See the small print that says ” MADE BY THE TEXAS COMPANY, U.S.A.” I guess it never occurred to me that Texaco was short for ” The Texas Company”. I don’t think I’ve ever heard it referred to that way.

I was surprised about the 1326 date for the Mulay’s sausage.

I saw another fox, a rather large one, but it ran off before I could get a good picture of it. A man walking by at the moment said there was a family of foxes that lived near there. (by the Air Traffic Control center)

So here’s a no-so-good picture of the fox. You can see it framed right in the center of the fence section.

No PICTURES of new state license plates, but I did see Rhode Island at a stop light, but didn’t have time to get my camera out. So I guess I won’t count it.
