North of Nelson, west of Hover, south of 9th Ave., east of Airport Rd.
Total for today : 30,300 steps and 5:43 time.
This will be the largest acreage I cover in any of my neighborhood walks this year. Golden Ponds takes up a lot of space, plus farmland. This had several areas that were badly hit by flooding. Areas near 3rd Avenue and Hover, as well as immediately south of 9th were both very active today with post-flood clean-up.
To start off today’s blog, I’m going to repeat a photo I took on my August 20 walk, which is looking west from where the St. Vrain river crosses Airport Road. Immediately below it is a photo from today’s walk, which I believe is from pretty much the same vantage point.

FLOODING SOUTH OF NINTH
There was a lot of police presence in this area (4 cars or so), with officers knocking on doors talking to residents. Also several city and Xcel utility vehicles, as well as volunteers (from as far away as Perryville, MO Baptist Church!) helping with cleaning up.

But that’s enough of the depressing flood pictures for now… most of today’s area came out relatively unscathed.
Just a little something I noticed…. Rogers Road turns into Boston Avenue at Hover, then turns/merges with Price going northeast for a bit, disappears into other streets for a while, then re-emerges as East Rogers Road once you get to Martin.
and now THE BEST OF THE REST… (and once again, my apologies for so many photos)
